What’s new in Zehen.

Staff attendance without a machine, and Zehen now updates itself

Staff attendance from their own phone

• No attendance machine to buy. Staff check in and out from their own phone, Android or iPhone, with their fingerprint or Face ID. Nothing to install: they open a link once and add it to the home screen.
• Works before you open the shop. Staff can check in while the shop computer is still switched off. Zehen collects every check-in the moment you start it.
• Checks you choose. Require staff to be on the shop Wi-Fi, ask for a photo at check-in, and record their location. Each check-in is tied to the staff member’s own phone and fingerprint, so a colleague can’t simply check in for them.
• A register that runs itself. Day and month views with late marks from your opening time, weekly offs, hours worked and the check-in photo.
• Fair to everyone. A forgotten check-out closes at the staff member’s last bill of the day. You can add or remove a check-in, always with a reason, and staff see their own month and every change on their phone.

Automatic updates

• Always on the latest version. New versions download quietly and install the next time Zehen is closed. Nothing restarts while you are billing.
• Your data is backed up first. Every update backs up your books before it changes anything.
• Only genuine updates. Each update is checked against Zehen’s own signature before it installs.
• Your choice. Turn automatic updates off in Settings, Software Update, and Zehen will only tell you when a new version is ready.

Improvements

• Picking an item by article number or rate on a purchase now fills its size and article number too, so the same item is never created twice.
• A scanned line on a sale shows its cost straight away.
• Reinstalling or updating no longer trips over Zehen’s own database files.

Loyalty membership

• Membership for your regulars. Create membership plans, enrol a customer straight from their customer card, and see every member in one list with a member report.
• Barcode labels, reworked. A cleaner label designer and more reliable printing.
• Quicker adding of a new party while billing, and smoother Back navigation.

A dashboard that tells you more

• Week, bank and growth views. See this week against last, money in each bank account, and how the business is growing.
• Act from the dashboard. Send WhatsApp reminders to customers who owe you without leaving the screen.
• Every dashboard figure now matches the reports it comes from, including dues by age.

WhatsApp, built in

• Bills and statements on WhatsApp. Send an invoice or a customer statement in a couple of clicks.
• A WhatsApp assistant for your customers. Customers who message your number can get their balance, bills, payments or a full statement, answered automatically.
• Smarter search. Products found by article number and barcode come first.
• Natural Back. Esc and Back step up one screen at a time and end at Home.
• Amounts receivable and payable now agree across the dashboard, lists and reports.

Built for speed, and for the whole business

• Keyboard-first, the way Tally users work. Alt-letter menus, F-key shortcuts on every screen, a quick date picker and a full shortcut sheet.
• Banking and loans. Bank accounts, cheques from issue to clearing, and loans with their EMI schedule.
• Expense tracker. Rent, fuel and supplies recorded with proper double-entry accounts.
• Stock the way you keep it. Batches with expiry dates, stock by colour, several godowns and stock transfers between them.
